Mystical Death is a progressive death metal band from the Netherlands. Formed in 2024, they have developed their signature style of progressive death metal by blending technical death metal, symphonic death metal, OSDM and various other influences. Their music remains firmly rooted in the brutal origins of death metal, while boldly exploring new territories, ensuring it honors the true meaning of the word ‘progressive’. Mystical Death offers a fresh and unique sound that should appeal to most fans within the death metal scene.
On the 14th of September 2024, they released their debut ‘Carnation’. Five intense and progressive death metal tracks that showcase a wide range of influences, yet converge into a recognizable style. Their debut has been received very well and has attracted only positive reviews. Good press led the band to be played not only on smaller local radio stations, but to receive airplay on the largest Dutch rock and metal radio station KINK FM as well. Not just once but twice, including a full-length interview.
On the 3rd of October 2025, Rottweiler Records reissued their debut EP, in digital as well as in physical format. The reissue contains a killer bonus track exclusive to Rottweiler Records and sports gloomy yet stylish sepia artwork.
On the 6th of November 2026, Rottweiler will release the full-length album “Across”, containing 10 tracks. The album is a leap forward in songwriting and production, and has garnered various very good pre-release reviews. The album is recognisably Mystical Death, yet is bolder in its experimentation. The songs range from slow, crushing riffs to fast, technical ones, but above all, the album breathes the passion of the band members for death metal, in every possible form. A single “Laniakea” from the upcoming album received airplay on KINK FM as well, and Rottweiler has released the two singles “Apophenia” and “Inundant” through its offcial channels.

Technique becomes a means of transport through brutal death metal, progressive disorientation, jazz fluidity and an almost classical finale. Ten tracks running for 37 minutes and 29 seconds form a compact, demanding debut that feels far larger inside than its length suggests. Mystical Death remain deeply rooted in death metal. The riffs are sharp, the vocals aggressive and the rhythms often operate like a mechanism built to break apart regular divisions.
